The mission of the Maurice A. Ferré Institute for Civic Leadership at FIU is to advance civic engagement and leadership, community infrastructure, and social justice through academic, research, and community programs and collaborative partnerships.
Launched in 2021, the Maurice A. Ferré Institute for Civic Leadership at FIU builds upon the legacy of its namesake, who was a founding father of modern Miami and the first Hispanic and Puerto Rican-born mayor of a major U.S. city.
